Since my last post I was working in compose some details about a field that you should include in order to request sponsorship from canonical if you want to attend to UDS-P, Although I have already done it. So if you are interested in apply and go to Orlando, Florida per a week and you complete all the requirements, you should do the following.
First, you have to go at http://summit.ubuntu.com/uds-p/sponsorship/ (you must be logged using your Launchpad ID) and fill all the required fields. There is a field very important in which you must write down all your contributions and tasks that you have been doing for the ubuntu community, this step is very *important* and *essential* as far as I know this is one of the points that people in charge about the whole process considers and has extra points in your resume.
I would like to share my personal application as a example, please feel free to either change or modified as you wish.
My name is Victor Vargas, also known as Kamusin in the community, and I am writing to describe some of the activities that I have done and I am currently doing in order to apply for the sponsorship process. I have been contributing to the Ubuntu family since 2007 and I received my Ubuntu Membership in 2010, in addition, I was sponsored by canonical to participate in UDS Natty - Oneiric. I have also been working on bug triage for the QA team, organizing and participating in bugdays and global jams, reporting bugs, being QA mentor for the mentorship program, attending to QA weekly meeting and translating applications, apart from other varied activities. Besides I am proud to be a member of our local council (Chilean Team), where I help to organize events, giving seminars (I have recently been a speaker in Charlas Ubunteras), GNU/Linux evangelization in order to get more people involved in our local team, giving local support, among some other activities.
